Gender selection or Gender “swaying”

UPDATE.

Apparently there is a some evidence that diet affects gender swaying some. This article on from new scientist shows that eating cereal can sway towards boys.  It reminded me of some interesting studies that appear to point to the possibility of this phenomenon in animals. Here is a couple from various medical journals here, here,and here.

I have been writing on gender selection or “swaying” as many call it.

I wrote my first article for Associated content here and I have another now available here. After finishing both articles I stumbled upon a very serious study on timing. You can read it here . It is an interesting read and one I will point out to the folks at In-gender.com. They have the neatest forum at in-gender and they are home to where I got a lot of information on gender swaying.

I have seen several articles crop up from time to time on what may cause a change in the ratio of males to females being born. Here is an article from the LA times about just that. As soon as I ind where they got there studies from I’ll post those as well. Basically if times are stress full and money is bad you’re  chances of getting pregnant and delivering a baby girl go up. So if you desperately want that girl get your wife pregnant tell her you got fired and your losing your house! I’m just kidding. But this is good information that maybe could be put to use as it does show that things are not always as random as they appear. Here’s a link to one of the research articles on this subject.

When and if God allows me and dw to try for a third child we may very well try swaying and report on the success  (or failure XD). Who knows we may have a Rosa Noel Mitcham or William Shiloh Mitcham after all. Or maybe we’ll just get a dog instead!

Be careful in gender swaying I got to embroiled in it and it could have cost me dearly. Here is my story about how I reacted to getting a boy instead of the daughter I dreamt I would have.

It’s not excatly gender related but I have found pee-on-a-stick to be hilarious if not incredibly informative. The owner of the site gives great info on pregnancy and ovulation tests. I wonder if she ever tried the at home gender tests????

OMG I just found out it was a huge lie. In the realm of birth control, family planning, and all things non-baby making related I found this.  Apparently they (whoever they are) did an unrelated study on semen and the uh “lube” men generate during the good ol BD  (that’s baby dance for you non IM speaking,  not natural family planning peeps). Old (and currently taught) knowledge is that the stuff is loaded with thousands of swimmers and they mear touch coudl get a girl pregnant. It in fact will not. I sight this study and these two entries located here and here. Now on these pages you will read about women who ended with a case of the 9 month flue due to activities involving the stuff but if you fully read the posts you can see that their are some caveats, some quid pro quos in dealing with “the stuff”. I’ll not go into detail here suffise it to say it’s documented on either link .
